This blog details our search for the best cafés, pubs and bars in South East London. Running a business and working from home, and getting sick of staring at the same four walls, led to us being on the look out for a new place to work from, just to provide a change of environment and atmosphere.

However, it wasn't as simple as we thought. Yes, there are plenty of greasy spoons, pubs and bars...but real, stand out cafés? Not as easy as you might think! There are several factors that come into play: price, accessibility, facilities, menu selection, general atmosphere and noise levels, standard of tea and coffee (essential!), location...the list goes on! So we started trawling the streets of South East London, and low and behold...we've found a few hidden gems to review...

We firmly believe in supporting local independent businesses, and therefore make a point of staying out of the big coffee chains. We are not looking to abuse free Wi-Fi and plug sockets for hours on end, nursing a single cup of tea or glass of tap water. We believe that coffee shops and laptop users can have a mutually beneficial relationship, and so we "café-hop" rather than overstay our welcome.
